Jesus wants to save Christians
Although I would like to quote the entire book as great and something we should all talk about, I ran across this line which made me think. And so I dedicate this line to all the Governor Palins of the world:
As Paul says, "We don't fight with those weapons" A church's authority comes from somewhere else - it comes from how we've been broken open and poured out, not from how well we've pursued power and lobbies and organized ourselves to triumph. This is why when Christians organize politically and start flexing that muscle, making threats about how they are going to impose their way on others, so many people turn away from Jesus.
Jesus' followers at that point are claiming to be the voice of God, but they are speaking the language of Caesar and using the methods of Rome, and for millions of us it has the stench of Solomon.
Obama changes more lives than Jesus?
Over the past several days I have noticed there are many people who talk about Obama would change their lives. Some talk about this change in terms of fear while others talk about this change in terms of joy. Regardless of the side of the fence a person is on about Obama there are a lot of people with opinions about how an Obama presidency will change their lives.
I have no problem with this conversation, in fact I have been engaged in these conversations myself.
My problem comes with the seemingly lack of these conversations with Christians and how Jesus has changed or is changing their lives. I have given my life to Jesus and followed him for much longer than I have been following Obama and yet I have heard more conversations about the Obama change in the past two years than I have heard of the Jesus change over the past ten years.
I am glad to see an Obama presidency has invoked passion in people and invited people to examine how their lives will change.
I just want to know, does Obama change more lives than Jesus?

Matthew 16:13-20
"Who do you say that I am?"
Is Jesus asking the disciples who they think he is or is Jesus asking the disciples who they think God is? Is Jesus asking if the disciples think that he is the Christ or is Jesus asking if the disciples think God is something other than God? Is this a question messianic question or a question about God?
Einstein = Einsteinium
Newton = Newtonian
Jesus = Jesustonian, Jesusium, Jesuit???
